If it were me, I would wait for further discounts on Intel ultra 5 and 7 based laptops. The iris Xe graphics are very dated and the new arc integrated GPUs are a huge jump forward.

This price point should include some kind of a dedicated GPU but as others mentioned the integrated graphics on Intel is very weak. At least ryzen APU chips have decent capable graphics. So this should be 200$ less
Just remember, no matter what you do, whatever command you try to run, trying to fix it in the bios, this laptop only has Balanced power mode and no high performance anywhere. MSI verified this as well.

I returned an intel ultra laptop, as non ultra are significantly faster. The ultra's are just lower power hungry. Big deal.

Is it worth the extra 100 or not really?

IMO those numbers are fine for a sub $500 laptop.
The other issue is that the processor is power hungry. Which might be fine but not on this thing because it has a tiny 39.3Whr battery.
And don't be confused by the marketing "thin and light". It's 0.78" thick and 3.75 lbs heavy which is average at best.
