I'm new to this, can this be used to extend an existing subscription? If so, how many years can you build up? Thanks!

Do you know if the 5 year $9.99 conversion to Family still works?
Yes, the family conversion works. This was offered a month or two ago. Activation is different though due to a Microsoft glitch. Check out the other thread for details.

Could you say more about this? What is the $9.99 conversion? I tried searching but can't seem to find which other thread you're talking about. Thanks.
Is t there ways to get Microsoft stuff on their direct website for free? Using the web browser instead of downloading and purchasing?
They do have free versions of Office software on the web. If you sign up for a free Microsoft account and go to Office.com then they have pretty good free web based versions of Word, Excel there to use without any fees. Its not the full versions of Office software but probably 90% of what 90% of us use 90% of the time.

I am not sure how the $9.99 conversion works either.
If you have an existing family subscription, you can use a personal subscription towards renewing the family subscription. It's prorated somewhat, but the math works out such that it is better than buying a discounted family subscription to renew your existing family subscription. There are lots of other threads that go into the math, so you can look for it or just take my word for it.
Let me also add that the code was actually SHIPPED and not emailed. With that said, this is the best deal out there if you don't need a $5 VPN for a year.
I have Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2021 and I have an annual subscription of Microsoft 365 Basic costing $20 a year therefore (I assume) the only advantage of this would be more recent versions of Office for a year. Is there anything more I would get?
How does stacking work again on these MS 365 Personal/Family deals? I've seen a few discussions in the past on other offers where people were adding time and/or inquiring about how long the code is good for and similar issues.
