Comcast managed to brick my old modem, so I needed one fast, and this was the best deal I could scrounge up on short notice. Docsis 3.1, gigabit ethernet (although apparently it only runs at 800mbps for Comcast), two gig E ports, $40 lower than anyone else is selling it for. Order via website or app for local pickup, widely available everywhere there is a B&M Walmart.

Same thing happened to my Cox modem. I came to the same conclusion that this was the best deal right now.

FYI, you can get this open-box for $60 from Amazon Warehouse. I did that last year, and it works fine. Came in original box, still had the protective film on it.

Try open-box Amazon Warehouse deals on this one… $60 right now. Just make sure it's sold by Amazon.

I was able to find these on clearance at Target several months ago. I picked up an extra just in case. If someone needs one, PM me.

I second this recommendation. Got my DOCSIS 3.1 Arris from Warehouse for $25. My throughput is 400mpbs, so it's more than what I need for now and saves me $13/mo. off my Comcast bill.

$125 is too much money to pay for a cable modem.

For 600-800 mbps even a good DOCIS 3.0 modem should give similiar performance. Maybe slightly more latency and slightly worse overall Quality of Serrvixe but I doubt the difference between 3.0 and 3.1 is much at that speed.

I got Motorola MB7621 for cheap. Plan to use this for 1-2 years…by then the docis 3.1 multi-gig models should come down in price.

If you have the know-how, you can enable LAG on the two gig ports and achieve speeds higher than 1 gig. I have a custom PFSense router (built from an old PC) and regularly get download speeds 1400mbps+
