I posted this a few weeks back, it comes and goes pretty often. It was removed by the admins. I assumed because it wasn't sponsored? Not sure z
Extended oil changes like 10k on newer cars with low compression piston rings is not a good idea. I'd stick to 5k mile oil changes.
Engineers are not perfect. My wife is on her second engine in a Mercedes C300, dealer maintained since new, engine replaced at 77k miles. 10k mile oil change intervals. Cylinder 1 wrist pin fails on the M274 all the time. Seems to be less frequent for those who change oil more regularly. Anecdotal, but, to say engineers know best is not always true.

I just sent Walmart corporate to confirm if it's 3 bottle or description mistake once they confirm it's 3 bottle I'm gonna place an order
Such a HORRIBLE mistake to ruin it for the rest of us. Wake up - no, corporate is not going to confirm. They're going to benefit themselves. Why not just order it and see, dumdum?
Received my order of 20x 3pk today, now to list all 60 5qt for sale.
Sad abuse of this site, you create a dumb side job w low pay for yourself AND RUIN A NICE DEAL FOR MANY MANY OF US WHO NEED THE DEAL. Way to go asshat.
My BWM and Audi like this stuff. I change my oil every 7500 miles and mix in a quart of Lucas High Milage Oil Stabilizer and the oil comes out looking almost new every change. Not sure if it's the oil or the stabilizer, but it's what I've used for decades and it's served me very well.
Thank you, very helpful, I was thinking of doing exactly that w my hi mile Mercedes - a detail: I read that Lucas is high viscosity, so prob raises the viscosity of the blend, which is good as summer comes on, but not so much if it was late fall and getting colder.
So right now in spring, and I'm in hot climate / south, yes add Lucas. in late fall I might hold off or use less Lucas.
Drive a screw driver or flat head through it then twist off easy. Doesn't matter if filter is damage as it's going in trash anyway. Hand tight install next time.
Yeah, some want to tighten the sh$$ out of these things.
3 pack of 5 quart 5W-40 European rang up at $24.47 for me. Fingers crossed, we'll see if I get 3 one quart bottles, or a cancellation…
That was a posted deal a few days ago. It's only available at certain stores. I ordered one pack and got 3 5-qt bottles. I'm surprised it's still there since some people were ordering 20 at a time to resell.

I think it's more than raises the viscosity. It looks like it causes oil to "stick" to metal components, preventing unlubricated cold starts. All I know is it seems to work well.

The issue is not the oil, that engine is a piece of crap, sadly.
The deal was last weekend on this. I got 2 cases (6 5qt jugs) for $53 bucks delivered. Didn't think they would ship but sure enough got the second box today. Should have enough oil for 5 oil changes

I'm overdue on my Mercedes, have to order soon, love to still get glitch price if it's out there.

A WISE strategy for the long-term owner.
