Highly efficient window AC units that cool really well. $239 for the 8000 BTU, $279 for the 12000 BTU. The inverter technology allows for these to ramp down to 2000 BTU cooling making them very energy efficient. I have two of the 14000 BTU units that cool my 1200 sqft home in Florida.

It is built into the app but yes I do have an separate energy monitor plug. The 2000 BTU Is just what I read. The units average 300-600 watts set to 72 at low lately. Closer to 600-800w during the summer.
Stop the silliness.

1200 is OOS

I have to install one of these on a horizontal sliding window but would like to maintain the ability to have outside air come in. Does this have the ability to just pull outside air in?

Hmm, could these possibly run vertically? I have an idea on how to adapt for my truck camper......

The design for these has a whicking fan, the moisture gathers in the pan and the fan hits the water into the coils for efficiency. So I don't believe it would work correctly if it is not right side up.

It does not pull outside air, there is just fan options for circulating inside. Could work in a horizontal window, I installed mine in a window that was too wide and ended up using white painted plywood to cover the extra area.

Bought the 8k for a small apartment I own, will be mounting it into a wall with the outside portion residing within an enclosed 3 season porch, hopefully it will last for 10+ years not exposed to the elements. I do wish they would make inverter units like these to also produce heat, would make installation a breeze compared to the mini-split options…

Are these heat pump or resistive heat? It always requires additional research (which I haven't done for a couple years) to figure it out. Both are out there. I know Midea makes HP window units but not in their U shape design.

Oof, mine shipped when I ordered it last night. Was going to get the 12000 but was too tall for my window and it was going in a small office anyway so got the 8000. Fun fact the 8000btu is about 65 pounds where the 12000 is about 95 pounds.

What's the electricity cost to run the 14K BTU units for 6 months in Florida?
I got a 8k inverter type. Full eco 1.5 KW in 24hr. Full mode about 2.1 KW. Florida Fpl is 11 cent per KW under 1,000 KW. So $7 bucks. I keep central AC daytime at 81F. I stay in the bedroom most the time.

Inverter will use 200-600W depending. Avg is 350 W. For me. Eco mode it kicks up every 10 mins to drop the air down, then turn off.

So I don't think too much more for higher btu.

Seems like a deal for those that actually have adequate heating for a room but only need AC. Just sayin'.

I have the 12k unit and I absolutely love it. We have conventional force air but it is only 1 zone in our colonial style home. The MBR gets hot as it faces the evening sun.
Last summer, I left this on all summer and doors open to other rooms to aid in keeping the entire 2md floor cooler. It worked well. It has a quiet sleep mode that is super quiet..which is what I wanted with 3 kids in the house.
It dropped my AC cooling bill because my conventional unit ran less.
