B&H has the DP-UB9000 4k player for $770. That's $229 cheaper than I have ever seen it anywhere!
This player supports all versions of HDR to include HDR10, DV and HLG, includes the HCX Cinema Processor and THX certification. Gives the tried-and-tru, though now discontinued, Oppo 4k players a run for their money.

Trouble is no Dolby Vision support for Blu Rays
There's an argument to be made there for most people. However, for people with high end setups and/or a projector, the Panasonic players are pretty much the best/only option right now for disc players. I'm using the baby brother of this one on my projector even though I have an Xbox series x.
Interesting, why is that? The dedicated players have better codec support or something?
I play a little Xbox (original Xbox one still) and have some 4k Blu-rays, and was tempted to get an X

There's a consensus that a "good" player has better quality processing than a game console. I can't speak to that. There's also the fact that a player is designed for this job, and has an appropriate remote and menus, rather than a console that's designed to be used with a controller.
There are also more advanced calibration obtions available. For example, what sealed the deal for me is HDR tonemapping. Projectors can't process Dolby Vision, so, any DV HDR information on the disc is useless when playing on a projector. However, with these Panasonics, I was able to set up a profile that maps the Dolby Vision HDR information to an HDR format that is compatible with a projector.
